Mt. Abram, in collaboration with the Mt. Abram Ski Club and Friends of Mt. Abram, is once again offering a fantastic opportunity for local children to enjoy the slopes this winter. Now in its fifth year, the Local Student Access Program provides a free winter season pass to any student eligible to enroll in MSAD 44, including private school and home-schooled students.
The program, which is entirely funded by community donations, underscores the region's commitment to making outdoor recreation accessible to all children in the MSAD 44 area. By providing this opportunity, Mt. Abram and its partners aim to foster a love for skiing and outdoor activity among local youth while encouraging a strong sense of community.
The Mt. Abram Ski Club and Friends of Mt. Abram have been instrumental in sustaining the program, thanks to the generous support of donors. Their efforts ensure that students can enjoy a full winter season on the slopes, regardless of financial circumstances.
This initiative not only introduces children to the joys of skiing but also serves as a reminder of the power of community partnerships in supporting local youth.
Families interested in signing up can visit Mt. Abram’s website for more details and to complete the registration process before the deadline. Online registration for the 2024/25 winter season is now open and will remain available until January 31, 2025.
